What does the most important "coming of age" dance for American high school students look like?

In traditional American campus culture, dances and parties are important social activities. Children are encouraged to learn various social skills and etiquette from an early age, and the most important event in school is the high school graduation dance, which we often call "Prom".

• Prom

Promenade Dance is a major feature of American high school campus culture.It originated in universities in the northeastern United States in the late 19th century. It is usually held before the university graduation ceremony, so that children can familiarize themselves with the dress and etiquette for attending major social occasions before leaving campus.

By the beginning of the 20th century, it gradually developed into a graduation dance where middle school students bid farewell to their innocent high school years, became independent adults, and moved towards freedom.

• Dress code

Nowadays, prom is usually arranged on the night of the graduation ceremony or the eve of the graduation ceremony. Children can enjoy the dance after all their high school studies are over.
